A great desire to live, patience and will can work wonders
Active pulmonary tuberculosis and insulin-dependent diabetes are contraindications for any kind of fasting, but even with such serious diseases there are cases of successful healing. I think that with a great desire to live, and if we have an iron will and patience, our body can work miracles.
I cured tuberculosis with fasting and sleep!
And this is how happy and healthy Natalia Sukhorukikh looks now. An absurd method from the point of view of official medicine has helped Natalia Sukhorukikh to cope with a dangerous disease. Let’s discuss this unique case together with experts. Natalia OSTROVSKAYA. (Our special correspondent). Photo by Galina Kushneryova (Vladivostok newspaper). Primorsky Krai. – 17.08.2004
Globally, three million people die of tuberculosis every year. These are the statistics. But in the seaside village of Anuchino, there lives a woman, perhaps the only one of her kind in the whole world, who managed to defeat Koch’s bacillus practically on her own – without a hospital, doctors and pills. Several years have passed since she became ill and recovered. And now the result of her unusual treatment can be safely said – it worked! So, there was a nice and successful woman. Husband, three children, favorite job. And suddenly, as if the sun went out.
– I began to wither, as if someone had spat on me,” Natasha recalls with difficulty. – My friends put me in a prestigious Vladivostok clinic for a checkup. When I was discharged, I asked: “Doctor, how long do I have left to live?” “Up to 45 years,” she said. Her husband “prescribed” her not to believe all sorts of nonsense, to be treated as it should be, and to do exercises in the morning. But she had no strength. Infiltrative tuberculosis of the right lung in the decay phase – what physical training is there… She began a hard existence from attack to attack. At night, choking, sweat, frantic heartbeat and such weakness, as if you left your life. An ambulance was called, and the ambulance rushed the dying woman to Arsenyev, to the TB dispensary. There, time after time – X-rays, drips, pills. After a while, her condition improved and she was discharged. The patient was not dangerous for her relatives – the infection was burning only inside her, there was practically no cough. But at home, the night attack came again, and everything repeated.
Every day in the ward of the tuberculosis hospital for doctors started and ended with me,” says Natalia. – My heart was pounding and then freezing – arrhythmia was bothering me, my right lung was squelching… After one day my blood rushed into the drip, the doctors got nervous. And I get it. A separate room, my husband visits me every day, brings everything I need. It would seem, lie down, get better. But I didn’t accept the treatment. They even took me to a psychiatrist, saying that something was wrong. It was depressing that I had to lie here for at least six months. There was no improvement. At night, during another attack, I said to the nurse: “If I’m going to die, I’m going to die at home.” I called my husband, he came and took me to Anuchino.
Instead of the required four months, she stayed in the clinic for only one. Already “on the outside” she found a book on self-medication, which is nowadays in abundance. She read it. Inspired. And why, she doesn’t even know why. Intuition? Anyway, the brave woman decided to try an extreme cure – fasting. Her friendly family hesitated a bit, but mom’s decision, as always, accepted. Or maybe they thought it couldn’t get any worse?
A patient with a severe form of tuberculosis, that is, a disease, the basis of treatment of which is always and everywhere considered to be a full-fledged high-calorie diet, ate nothing for 34 days! But she drank as much water as she wanted. At night, she says, she shuttled between the bedroom and the toilet. And so, in order not to interfere with her husband’s rest (in the morning to work), slept in the next room. In the afternoon, when the family scattered on business and lessons, lay down, watched TV, tried to occupy themselves with reading, knitting. In the evening the family returned and by unspoken agreement had dinner themselves, Natasha was not called to the table. And then they all had dinner together – the usual household chores, talking about everything in the world. Except food and fasting strike. Natalya didn’t want to eat at first. And two weeks later…
Her eyes suddenly sparkled, whether from fasting or because she felt better,” smiles her husband. There are no secrets in the village. There were “counselors”, twiddling their thumbs: “Sashka, why do you keep her at home? Take her to the hospital, before she infects you and the children”. After such “advice” he would return home like a beaten man. But the friendly spouses had no secrets from each other. And the evil receded. Their family hearth in spite of the misfortune did not become a hotbed of infection (the doctors periodically patronized naughty patient at home), or the center of internal conflict. For 34 extreme days all the household, big and small, kept well. Except for the father-in-law, who, having come to Anuchino to visit, saw a thin, without a blood in her face daughter-in-law, could not help himself – he cried. And then there was another great thing – coming out of fasting. First, Sasha squeezed juice from garden carrots, then fed his wife grated apple and oranges. Both of them turned out to be pretty good nutritionists. Again, thanks to intuition. From one slice of orange were amazing sensations – and today is surprised Natalia. – An extraordinary, divine flavor! And such a burst of energy that my body felt warm. And then I started to gain weight – 72, 80, 93 kg. Our women saw me in the bathhouse and laughed: “Andreevna, maybe you were diagnosed wrong?”
With phthisiatrist Anatoly Shcherbinkin, who at the time of Natalya Sukhorukhykh’s illness was the chief physician of the tuberculosis hospital, we look at her X-rays
You see, on admission to the hospital, the patient has a clear darkening in the right lung – a dark hole as big as a fingernail. But after her fasting, it was less. Then, two years later, only scarring and nothing else. First we gave her the second group of disability, then the third (that is, able to work), and soon the disability was removed. This is an interesting case.
Anatoly Shcherbinkin’s colleague Lidia VOLKOVA is skeptical of Natalia Sukhorukhykh’s miraculous self-healing:
You can’t cure TB with so-called folk remedies. Much less fasting. It doesn’t work like that. I don’t believe it. Because of the inflammatory process in the body is an active loss of protein, without proper nutrition is impossible. And without the pills, of course she’d be dead by now. I remember how she came to us after the fast – thin as a pencil, all glowing. We didn’t recognize her. We adjusted the treatment, replaced the drug. And she recovered.
The question of why this was not done in time and how a critically ill woman, desperately starving with tuberculosis, just managed to survive hangs in the air.
And then for seven years Natalia was free of any illness at all. And now, if any illness strikes, she uses a tried and tested remedy. As she puts it, she “goes on a famine”. Three days without food, lemon juice and water – that’s all her remedy.
Dietitian’s comment
Alla Knyazkova, a specialist in therapeutic nutrition: – Many diseases can be treated with the help oftherapeutic fasting –nervous, metabolic, etc., but not pulmonary diseases, especially tuberculosis. It requires a lot of “fuel” to support the organism – proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins. The fact that Natalia got rid of tuberculosis, especially of such a severe form, with the help of fasting is a miracle that cannot be logically explained by academic medicine. Natalia was lucky. Although, of course, I would not advise other TB patients to follow Natalia’s path. Fasting, especially without the supervision of specialists, is a very dangerous method.
Psychiatrist’s comment
Prof. Mikhail VINOGRADOV: – Undoubtedly, the case of Natalya Sukhorukikh is an extreme one. But in psychiatry, there are known situations when the most severe stress on the organism triggers the patient’s restorative mechanisms and mobilizes protective forces. That is Natalia, having dared to starve herself, created a situation for her organism, when “the wedge is driven out by the wedge”. And, of course, the unconditional support of her family played a huge role in the recovery process. I think that Natalia recovered in many ways because she felt the love and care of her loved ones and that she needed them. It is a pity that quite a lot of time has passed since the healing of the woman and it is impossible to make a completely objective picture. This case certainly needs to be studied.
I beat diabetes!
It was the desire to tell everyone about his victory over the disease that brought Alexander Martyushev to Komsomolka. At the age of 38, he went to a therapist with complaints of weakness, frequent urination and constant thirst. The diagnosis “killed” him – “diabetes”… This was confirmed by blood sugar tests. “In front of me loomed the prospect of sitting on insulin and slowly decompose, – says Alexander. – And I decided to fight” … I had to look in the library for books on alternative medicine, yoga, study the lives of the saints … I moved to the country, so it was easier to give up the old way of life. And they said that not far from the dacha there was a very healing spring – they said that “the whole table of Mendeleev is there”. On the first day at the dacha my sugar was at the level of 9 units, – says Alexander.- It was a bit scary, but I took honey and insulin with me just in case. I started fasting, started urine therapy and almost quit smoking.
Previously, I had only read about people fasting to detoxify their bodies. It wasn’t easy. At home, where everyone eats, I would hardly have survived the fast. But already on the 2nd day I slept so easily and sweetly, as if in a distant childhood! But on the 5th day I felt so weak that I had to set up the juicer and press apple juice. I drank exactly one glass and it got easier. Every day I took a slow walk to the healing spring for water, breathed deeply the clean air. Every evening I made compresses of urine evaporated to 1/4 of urine and felt that the pancreas as if twitching. But I did not inject insulin. On the 7th day the analysis in the district hospital showed a sugar level of 4 units! But I continued to do the program, I understood that in a short time to restore the function of the pancreas is unrealistic. I continued to fast, drank fresh apple juice and only spring water, combining all this with urine therapy. So passed 30 days, every 7th day I took an analysis. Sugar kept from 4 to 5 units. I lost weight from 75 to 55 kg. I didn’t feel sick anymore. It’s been 4 years, my sugar is still under 6 units. So it is possible. I wish everyone suffering from this disease patience and faith in success. After all, the Scripture says:“Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you.
Myasthenia gravis – experience of cure
I owe a great debt to the weekly Healthy Lifestyle: it helped me to survive. And now I want to repay my debt – maybe my short story will help someone as much as the articles in this wonderful newspaper helped me.
In my younger years, I suffered a trauma complicated by gas gangrene, which led to the amputation of both legs at the thigh level. I mastered walking on prostheses at a level that allowed me to receive full social rehabilitation: I have the opportunity to work with the highest load in science (my specialty is prosthetics, orthopedics and biomechanics), to engage in social and administrative activities. serious business, to do family, to do all the cottage work, to travel extensively in different countries: from Japan and the island of Okinawa in the east to almost all the countries of Europe in the west and north. Despite my busy life, until the age of 55, I was practically never sick: my outpatient card has three leaves.
But in October 2002, problems appeared – first, my vision lost its clarity, it became difficult to breathe in the supine position, then the strength of masticatory muscles sharply decreased, my voice changed beyond recognition, my eyelids fell down, my skeletal muscles were losing strength every day. The initial period of treatment in the military hospital (about a week) was based on a wrong diagnosis, which complicated my condition. Further numerous consultations with specialists in various scientific and medical institutions, comprehensive examination, including reaction to proserine tests left no doubt – myasthenia gravis.
I had to go to a day hospital at the Institute of General and Emergency Surgery, where I continued to be examined and gradually prepared for surgery to remove the thymus gland. Motor activity was provided by taking kalimine, the daily dose of which was up to 5 tablets. In the afternoon I left the clinic and went to work. I actively collected information about this disease and methods of its treatment.
Myasthenia gravis has a peculiar clinical picture. There is no visible or diagnosable pathology in the central nervous system. Muscles also retain their ability to contract in a wide force range. But when the main links of the neuromuscular apparatus are healthy, the system of these two elements as a whole does not work. In addition, muscle weakness can occur and progress steadily for some reason that has not yet been fully identified.
Various etiologic factors of myasthenia gravis have been reported in the literature. Many authors believe that myasthenia gravis develops when acetylcholine synthesis is impaired. Since the middle of the twentieth century, variants of the theory, the essence of which was the connection of myasthenia gravis with the state of the thymus, have become increasingly widespread. For example, according to some authors, the thymus, which has changed its structural and functional organization, produces curare-like substances that block neuromuscular transmission.
Studying the literature data, I gradually came to the conclusion that there is no unanimity among specialists that myasthenia gravis occurs and develops depending on the state of the thymus. I was not happy with the data obtained from scientific journals and the Internet about the long-term results of surgical treatment, about the duration of the recovery period and about the subsequent condition of a person with immune system without thymus. Moreover, some authors believe that the thymus is not the cause, but the target organ in myasthenia gravis, or point out that after thymectomy the condition of patients does not differ much from the preoperative state, and careful monitoring reveals that many indicators even sharply worsen. The most plausible cause of this disease seemed to me the appearance of substances (antibodies) in the body, which are not related to the state of the thymus, but when reaching a certain concentration they interrupt the passage of muscle control signals through the channels of the nervous system. The disruption of neuromuscular transmission occurs, as many experts point out, at the level of the postsynaptic membrane, which is blocked by the action of antibodies.
Consequently, the treatment should be based primarily on the elimination of these substances from the body and the elimination of their occurrence on an endogenous basis. There is a perception that myasthenia gravis is a disease of the final stage and form, into which other various types of diseases, pre-diseases, and negative influences pass or are created.
My condition deteriorated sharply from day to day, my skeletal muscles weakened so much that the weight of my own hands was beyond their strength, I could not hold even light objects in my hands, it took 15-20 minutes to move from lying to sitting position. My voice sometimes disappeared completely, I could not chew anything, etc. I left the surgical institute and began to look for other methods of treatment, which should have been applied without delay. It should be said that some doctors, especially my friend Prof. N.K. Goloborodko, supported my refusal from surgery.
On December 2nd, in the evening, the decision about the most acceptable way of treatment came as an epiphany – I should fast. At that time I had some general knowledge about this therapeutic and recreational method and a little experience of my own: six days of fasting during surgery, when I had to stitch a torn tendon on my biceps. The solution I came up with was not just a general idea. It was necessary to determine as clearly as possible what and how I would do or what I would not do in the next forty days (it was clear that in my case it was necessary to set myself up for a long period of fasting). The psychological attitude was formed, which not only determined my behavior in the future, but first of all turned off the feeling of fasting at once. I had no time to fulfill any other recommendations on preparation for fasting. It is important to note here that all this time we lived together with my wife in an organized country house, where there was peace, complete silence and controlled isolation from the world.
Gradually I had to give up taking all medicines, including calamine: it is not allowed on an empty stomach. I collected all available scientific and popular literature on fasting, which became my regular and only reading for the whole period of fasting, but the most necessary was a selection from ZOZH newspapers, which was brought by my friend A.T. Dupliakin, who conducts periodic fasts. The articles by experts or those who applied this method themselves gave me the necessary orientation and moral support.
How the fasting went. I did the first cleansing enema after the completion of natural defecation processes, i.e. on the third day. I believe that it is more physiological and does not create additional psychological burden in the first days.
In the future, regular enema should be taken very seriously and carefully. Never use water from the city water supply, especially untreated water. The minimum number of enemas during a day, which I did, was two. The main indicator was unpleasant sensations in the mouth. Orienting on them put enemas with such a frequency, which provided either their disappearance, or a significant reduction. Once I had to do seven enemas in a day, although each enema completely exhausted me, already exhausted by myasthenia gravis, but this procedure was always done independently. However, the inexpressible sight and smell of what poured out of me after the enema indicated that I was on the right track. Apparently, the assumption that my body was heavily polluted was correct and fasting brought gradual purification. Therefore, I cannot understand and support the recommendations of some authors regarding infrequent enemas.
To visualize how it was given – this enema – I will briefly describe the process of pouring water into a rubber container permanently suspended at a convenient and necessary height I could not even raise my hand to the necessary height, not to mention the hose with water. So I used to cling a loop from the hose to my thumb and, since the muscles serving the large joints did not work, but my fingers moved a little, I climbed up to the container by running them over the wall. Sometimes with the first, sometimes not with the first time managed to fill the container. Often the hand fell down powerlessly, I had to repeat again. But for some reason this pouring of water became a fundamentally important part of the treatment for me, and I rejected my wife’s offers to help.
Drinking water was as recommended by experts, i.e. at least two liters a day. I drank this amount of water willingly, without any compulsion. I used mainly water from my own well, sometimes alternating with non-carbonated mineral water Berezovskaya or Morshanskaya. During the whole period of fasting, only twice I wanted sourness in water and added a couple of drops of lemon juice to a cup.
I believe that in the absence of specialized clinics and in the home environment for fasting can be created quite acceptable conditions in terms of hygiene procedures, psychological comfort, including the support of loved ones. It is unlikely that anyone will be able to fast in a hospital, with its communal wards and other unsuitable factors. However, under any circumstances, one should not completely escape from the medical field when carrying out fasting. For long fasts, it would be ideal to make arrangements with the nearest hemodialysis center or those who perform plasmapheresis, just in case.
My condition continued to be severe, without significant changes in the muscular system until the end of December. Sometimes there were violent urges similar to vomiting, but, of course, without gagging. Even the water I drank did not pour out, but at the same time I, who had almost lost the ability to speak normally, involuntarily emitted such an inhuman roar that my wife said that demons were coming out of me. The severity of my condition can be shown by such an example. One night my head was tilted so that I could not breathe normally and began to suffocate. I could not change the position of my head with my neck muscles, my arms could not reach my head, my body muscles did not allow me to roll to my side and change my posture, and there was no voice to call me. I felt that the moment was coming, about which they say something like this – “Well, that’s it”. When I sensed something wrong, Natalia woke up and saved me.
The fracture came suddenly on December 31st, the twenty-ninth day of the fast, at about 18 o’clock. At first there was a faint involuntary twitching in some muscles, then several waves of muscle tremors, at first weak, then stronger and stronger, swept through my body. I froze, listening to the sensations. And then, lying on my back, I made a movement that had been completely inaccessible during the whole illness – I raised my arms up, repeated this movement several times. Then I sat up without much difficulty. It became clear that control was returning to the muscles. Carefully, afraid of tearing something off, I made several different movements – everything worked, although the weakness of the muscles that had atrophied over two and a half months was palpable.
From that moment on, my body was asking for movement, and I was happy to do it periodically throughout the day, but I only had enough energy for a few dozen careful raises and lowers of my arms. I hesitated as to whether it was possible to stop fasting before the deadline I had set for myself. On January 4, on the thirty-fourth day of fasting, I make a decision in favor of motor activity, i.e. I start to leave the fast, although there is not much left before the planned period of forty days. The main embarrassing thing is that there is no feeling of fasting, i.e. one of the conditions when one should end fasting. But muscles ask for calories, and I start adding freshly squeezed juice to water, first from one orange for a day, then two, and so three days on diluted juices. The fourth day started with vegetable “soup”: a cabbage leaf boiled in water. In the afternoon – a little boiled beets. In general, doing everything according to the methods described in the literature with adjustments according to my own feelings, I managed to start the work of the stomach without any problems.
Thanks to fasting I managed to achieve the main thing – basically to restore innervation of all muscles – and now I could make any recently inaccessible movements, speak with a familiar timbre, have normally open eyes. Plus all other effects of fasting – super mobility in joints, weight reduction by 16 kilograms, disappearance of various small dermatoses, joy from the simplest food. It became unusually easy to walk.
However, on the ninth day after the cessation of fasting, I suddenly started to regress rapidly: my arms could not rise again and my voice changed. This alarmed me, but did not scare me: it was obvious that there was no organic damage to organs and systems of the body, that everything could be restored. From my previous work with Chinese doctors I still had their microresonance therapy apparatus and I started to use it. The first irradiation of the collar zone for 30 minutes caused a well felt tremor of muscles in this area of the body. It was especially strong on the masticatory muscles: my teeth were knocking so hard that I held my jaws with my hands to keep them together.
Further treatment continued at the clinic of the Institute of Spine and Joint Pathology named after Prof. M.I. Sitenko, where I was prescribed general strengthening massage. On my own initiative I took the drug Coenzyme-Ultra. There I completed the last sessions of irradiation of the collar zone with MRI apparatus. The new recovery of motor abilities was unusually fast, which made it possible to do intensive physical therapy. A week later, I was already able to do several pull-ups on the bar.
On January 27, 2003 I went to work and since then I have been leading a usual way of life: with a working regime, typical for the head of a scientific and production association, with active rest, with work at weekends in my garden and carpentry workshop.
Here I have described the treatment regimen, but there was another crucial component to the whole process – a spiritual one, which was mainly carried out by my wife through moral support and prayers, and which I will not undertake to describe here.
Myasthenia gravis is a serious disease in which it is not easy to apply therapeutic fasting, and I have not found any mention of it in the literature. But it helped me and I want to inform about this case to those who are looking for methods of curing this disease.
