The most important decisive factor in the treatment ofbenign tumorsandcystic neoplasmsis the antitumor mechanism.
In a healthy body there is a constant struggle with mutant cells – the body does not allow newly formed atypical cells to unite and form a dense tumor. This fight is carried out by anti-tumor immune surveillance – three types of cells: macrophages, natural killer (NK – cells) and cytotoxic T – lymphocytes (CTL). Macrophage eats and digests the malignant cell; CTL, having detected it, releases protein-polymers “perforins”, which make holes in the outer membrane of the malignant cell, thus equalizing the osmotic pressure inside and outside the cell, as a result of which the cell dies, and if not, then additionally released proteins “granzymes”, destroying its nucleus. Natural Killer – a special cell, one of the strongest anti-tumor cells, it recognizes any altered cells that are not recognized by Macrophages and CTLs. In patients with benign tumors (myomas, mastopathies, prostate adenoma), all three types of cells are in a depressed state: most are young, immature elements, incapable of active action, moreover, their maturation rate is extremely low. The life span of these cells is short, and most importantly, their antitumor activity is at a low level. It is possible that the combination of these factors leads to the destruction of the body’s antitumor shield.
What is the mechanism of antitumor action of fasting?
● During fasting a powerfulcleansing of the organismtakes place, and this promotes accelerated maturation of natural killer cells, resulting in a large number of their mature, combat-ready forms. Also the life span of Macrophages, CTL and NK cells increases several times. Most importantly, Macrophages, CTL and NK – cells are activated, after which they not only become capable of destroying atypical malignant cells, but show high cytotoxic activity to any altered cells. There is an increase in “Tumor Necrosis Factor” and interleukins. Since phagocytes are left without food, they begin to perform their direct duties: they capture and digest bacteria, viruses, cell debris, old, dying cells (thus contributing to the renewal and even rejuvenation of the body). Digest all altered and even cancerous cells, which are always, normally present in the body. Destruction of sick, not healthy cells during therapeutic dry fasting is also connected with the release of lymphoepithelial cells of the whole digestive tract. A multi-day refusal offood and water intakecreates conditions for the withdrawal of a very powerful army of B-lymphocytes from the advanced gastrointestinal positions. They are pulled from all lymphatic collectors and nodes of the long digestive tract. But especially many of them come from the small intestine. The army of B-lymphocytes transferred to the reserve is used for its direct purpose. It suppresses and neutralizes all available pathogenic and foreign elements. During dry fasting, higher concentrations of biologically active substances, hormones, immunocompetent cells and immunoglobulins in body fluids are achieved.
● We all know that pathologically changed cells of the organism, including cancer cells, begin to die at an increased temperature. This temperature may not be registered with a thermometer, but it is felt by people during dry fasting as an internal fever, “fire” or chills. The most important point in this state is that temperature itself is an important part of defense reactions. At temperature, all metabolic processes in the body are accelerated, so faster destroyed, even cancer cells – they completely suspend their vital activity. Increases phagocytic and bactericidal activity of cytotoxic neutrophils, strengthening the effects of lymphocytes. One of the most important cells, the T-lymphocyte, works best at high temperature. Cancer researchers have reduced tumors in size by heating them. All of these processes accelerate healing. By reacting by raising body temperature, the body causes tumors to slow down their growth. It becomes easier for the immune system to hunt down and kill anything foreign and altered.
● Just recently I learned another anti-tumor mechanism. A professional gynecologist and her friend came to us for treatment. The friend was diagnosed with a very large uterine myoma. After undergoing dry fractional fasting, when they arrived home, her friend had an ultrasound done. The tumor had shrunk considerably, but most importantly, as the doctor told me, she saw during the examination a disruption in the blood supply to the tumor, which was also the reason for its shrinkage. A tumor cannot exceed the size of a pinhead until it has a source of independent blood supply. Angiogenesis provides the tumor with the oxygen and nutrients it needs to grow and spread. During the passage of dry starvation, blood clotting occurs, especially in pathologically altered tissues, the growth of blood vessels in the tumor is inhibited, blood supply and nutrition to the tumor is impaired, and hence tumor growth is inhibited. When the blood supply is impaired, especially in large nodules, degeneration occurs; the lesion has a soft gelatinous consistency. Further degeneration can lead to the complete disappearance of pathologically altered nodes.
All these therapeutic processes are triggered during the dry therapeutic fasting process and play a crucial role in autolysis.
According to a number of researchers, under conditions of artificial restriction of substances into the body (starvation), malignant cells fed from surrounding tissues often die. It is well known that malignant cells, due to their rapid growth, need significant amounts of nutrients, several times higher than normal cells. Obesity and an unhealthy diet appear to increase the risk of cancer.
Researchers from Ben Gurion University (Israel) decided to testwhether dietary restriction to a reasonable minimum has a direct effect on tumor growth. Under such conditions, normal cells multiply more slowly. And the fast-growing abnormal cells found in malignant tumors die off because they need out of proportionately large sources of energy to grow at this rate. They face a dilemma: either grow no faster than the rest of the body or die, in an attempt to reproduce sooner than their limited energy supply allows. Scientists believe that by reducing dietary intake to a reasonable minimum, if you can put it that way, you can “starve your tumor.”
Clinical studies have shown that patients who have undergone a course oftherapeutic fasting, better toleratecourses of chemotherapy and radiationThey do not have a pronounced drop in leukocytes and immunological indicators.
