Wet fasting record

The phenomenon “HRM” is named after the initials of Hira Ratan Manek. And if it were not for Hira Ratan Manek, we would not believe that it is possible to feed on “holy spirit”, i.e. solar energy and pure water. Have you heard of a man who hasn’t eaten anything for almost 8 years? The name of this – “the phenomenon of CPM” – was invented by American scientists from NASA, who were interested in the unusual, to put it mildly, “diet” of this citizen of India. And NASA invited him to visit them to check and investigate Manek’s ability to survive only on liquids and sunlight.

Can you imagine the possibilities for astronauts? Water, in principle, can be regenerated and reused on the ship, but food is a real problem. Especially if you’re going to be in space for a long time. It wasn’t until today that mankind learned about Maneka. This resident of the southern state of Kerala began his experiments more than ten years ago, back in 1992. In 1995, the Hindustan Times reported that he had made a pilgrimage to the Himalayas, and when he returned he had stopped eating altogether. His wife Wilma says that every evening he stares at the sun for an hour without squinting or blinking. This is his main food. Occasionally he drinks coffee, tea or some other liquid. That’s pretty much it. When Manek came to the U.S., the researchers there were convinced that this Indian can really live without food. They thoroughly investigated all psychophysiological parameters of his body – the experiments were conducted by Dr. Patel from Jefferson University. But no. Everything was normal. Someone again will say that we have heard about such things, but either this is pathology or another hoax. I mean, we’re not plants! Can a human organism turn into a kind of light-sensitive cell and transform the sun’s rays into the energy of its own body? Indian Hira Ratan Manek assures that this is a very real thing. “We humans live mainly on secondary solar energy, which has been consumed and utilized by plants before us, because their growth and development is completely dependent on the sun,” says Manek. All he has to do is learn how to absorb solar energy directly from its original source. And he has achieved this.

Manek was born in 1937. He became a mechanical engineer. He had a fairly successful career in the service. But then came a sense of the meaninglessness of his materialistic aspirations. In 1962, almost by chance (or is it nothing happens by chance?) he came to Sri Aurobindo’s ashram in Pondicherry. The woman who carried on Sri Aurobindo’s work after his passing looked at Manek and said: “You must carry the Solar energy to earth to help the Supreme Intelligence to descend upon mankind.” For a while he did nothing in that direction. But then, much later, he met a man endowed with special powers and much knowledge. That man looked at the crowd, and his gaze stopped on Maneka. And this man told him the same thing as those women in the ashram. But Manek had no idea what he should do. He spent a long time walking barefoot in the sun and studying everything that seemed to have something to do with his intentions. Suddenly he began to notice that he needed less and less food, but he had more and more energy. And then one day it occurred to him that the sun’s energy should be channeled directly into his brain. How? Through his eyes. He began to carefully, step by step, accustom his eyes to the direct sunny snow.

The doctors Manek approached for help were interested. And when asked if he was willing to sacrifice a year of his life for science, he said yes. He left his loved ones (with their consent) and devoted himself entirely to research. These were conducted in Ahmedabad (Gujarat). It was decided that Manek would fast for a year – 355 days. But when that time had passed, he decided that he should continue the experiment. So he livedwithout food for 411days. However, this was not the first long fast. In the previous case, when Manek ate nothing for 211 days, he first lost a lot of weight – 41 kg! And his blood sugar dropped to 43 units. Medicine says that this indicator should not fall below 50 – it is dangerous. But even then, he didn’t lose any muscle mass. Now, after 411 days of fasting, his blood sugar level was normal, as well as all other indicators of his health. Neurologist Sudhir Shah, MD, was one of those who conducted this unique experiment, and he says that a whole team of doctors kept a close eye on the subject, never leaving him unattended for a minute, day or night. He was isolated, placed in a separate box, not allowed to communicate alone with his relatives. And on February 14, 2001, the experiment ended. All this time Manek drank only boiled water, and that only from 11 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon, and – no food! There was nothing wrong with his health.

And during this time the scientists were surprised a lot. For example, on the 401st day of fasting Manek independently, without anyone’s help (though there were about 500 fans and followers around), climbed the Shatrunjai (Palitana) mountain, and did it only in an hour and a half. Isn’t that amazing? Now came a particularly difficult moment – for medics – it was necessary to explain all this somehow. After all, it was not in the Himalayas, not in some jungle, but in a big city, in a modern clinic, in full view of doctors, religious leaders, journalists and scientists. And scientists know very well what happens to the body in the absence of food for a long time. First the body uses carbohydrates. Then ketones appear in the urine. Proteins are burned. The body draws from all its stores of fats, eating them as well. But even before that, the person becomes gloomy, irritable, his logic and sobriety of thinking give up. All vital parameters decrease, and in 8-10 weeks there is already a threat to physical existence. Nothing of the kind was observed here. Normal intellect, good health, no depressive states. So what could be the explanation? Religious motivation? That’s important, but physiology is physiology.

Maybe this person is genetically different, has a different phenotype? Or he really replenishes energy at the expense of solar energy and somehow utilizes it in his body? There are several hypotheses here, and experts will have to answer a lot of questions. Let’s just say that some of them are not found even today. But still something interesting is already known. In the so-called chronic adaptation to hunger (after about 16-30 days) metabolism really slows down considerably. The cells of the body receive only oxygen and water. In the brain, hunger centers are suppressed, but satiety centers are activated. A person adapts and can carry out normal activities, consuming only 500-600 calories. But maybe Manek really is a “sun eater”? After all, people have learned to create a variety of devices and mechanisms on solar energy – heaters, stoves, even cars. So, maybe the body can become a mechanism that works like a solar battery? The whole plant world thrives on chlorophyll and photosynthesis.

In the case of humans, we still need to figure out whether they actually receive solar energy through their bodies or whether it happens through the “aura” of their bodies, which is a kind of modulator. Here we need additional research. And if it is through the eyes, then what in this case serves as a light-sensitive element? We can assume it’s the retina. Or the pineal gland, the so-called third eye. Their cells, obviously, and are a kind of photoreceptors. However, if the pineal gland is really involved in this process, its activation can serve as a regulator, a fine-tuner of the entire endocrine system. Due to melatonin, it regulates circadian rhythms, sleep and wakefulness cycles and also slows down the aging process. The pineal gland also inhibits the growth and metastasis of certain tumors. It has a stimulating effect on the immune system. And due to the release of serotonin, it is involved in psychic activity, including associated with extrasensory perception. What is this tiny gland? Normally, it’s only 6mm by 8mm. But when Manek was scanned, it was found to be 8 mm by 12 mm. So it’s significantly enlarged! To be more precise, this 66-year-old man has a gland the size of a 20-year-old man.

However, size alone does not indicate hyperfunction. We need to check hormone secretion – melatonin and serotonin levels. These tests should also be done thoroughly. And the skin? Isn’t it involved in energy harvesting? Maybe the so-called acupuncture points and the channels leading away from them are a kind of “antennae”? If they can be activated by acupressure and acupuncture, maybe they can be activated by the sun too? Solar energy is absorbed by water, earth, plants, animals. Maybe when a person walks barefoot on the ground, he absorbs a part of the solar energy accumulated there? But where is it accumulated and stored? Here, too, we need special studies to find out the role of the frontal lobes of the brain, the limbic system, and the medulla oblongata. Maybe the medulla oblongata is a kind of a “warehouse”, a storage? Sudhir Shah told reporters, “What we are facing in this case is not yet a hundred percent scientific fact, but only a hypothesis under development. However, we believe that we are looking at a case of permanent adaptation syndrome, in which after fasting for 16 to 30 days, the body reduces its energy requirements.

This is achieved by turning off the mechanism of receptor regulation. Simply put, you can get used to anything, including an empty stomach. Sudhir Shah does not rule out that in the process of such adaptation the frontal lobe of the brain, which is apparently responsible for parapsychological activity, may be activated. Something like a sixth sense is developed – the body’s ability to self-regulate. All other parts of the brain, including pituitary gland and medulla oblongata, did not undergo any changes. In other words, starvation does not make a person dumber, but rather, on the contrary, it makes him a free creative person. When journalists ask Manek himself how it came into his head – to eat nothing – he answers that he did not invent this method. All this was known long ago, only people have managed to forget the ancient wisdom. It is time to remind them about it. Who can practice this method? Yes, anyone. There are no restrictions – neither age, nor racial, nor religious. You don’t need to change your lifestyle, you don’t need to organize grueling hunger strikes – everything will come by itself. If it comes. And the one who feels uncomfortable after the beginning of classes, should quit them. Such cases happen. But already now more than 25 thousand people around the world practicing this strange system – people gaze at the sun. And many of them have already realized what benefits it brings.

The only important thing is to do everything wisely. Suppose you looked at the sun for 10 seconds on the first day, 20 seconds on the second day, 30 seconds on the third day, and so on. Or maybe you started with five seconds, then 10,15, etc. The main thing is to never torture your eyes, otherwise you can damage your retina. And what is also very important is the inner mindset. Imagine in your mind how the rays of the sun enter our eyes, from there – in the brain and the rest of the body. And ask the luminary that all this – only for good, for the sake of health. Then there will be no harm. Because what you truly believe in becomes reality. In sunlight there is the whole spectrum of the rainbow, so at the same time there is a kind of light and color therapy – if the body lacked some shades of color, they will be replenished. It is very important to believe that diseases are healed, and the cosmic energy “feeds” you, as if nourishing your strength and your body. In about three months you will be able to look at the sun for ten minutes at a time. And you’ll have conquered all fears. It could be fear of death or illness. Fear of an uncertain future. In general, mental disturbances should go away. Stress conditions, for example. Or depression. By this time, mental tension will disappear, as well as many life problems. That’s important in and of itself. If that was your goal, you can stop there and not increase your time in the sun. If your goal is higher, keep adding a few seconds a day.

After six months, i.e. after about 10 days, you will be able to gaze at the Sun for about 15-20 minutes without any strain. Physical illnesses should have disappeared by this time. Having overcome the 15-minute barrier of contemplating the sun, you will notice that your appetite begins to fade. “This is defeating the feeling of hunger, not suppressing it,” declares the proponent of the unusual diet. When a person can look at the sun for 30-35 minutes at a time, his brain will begin to develop a special ability to store solar energy and store it in store. After another three months, i.e. in the final phase – 270 days – you will be able to contemplate the sun for 44 minutes.

Don’t exceed that limit!

During this period, the need for food will disappear completely, you will no longer have a feeling of hunger – it will go away on its own. A number of special opportunities open up – the ability to visualize images or states, the ability to see the aura and its colors, etc. We could stop here, i.e. it is no longer necessary to look at the sun every day. Why? Because, according to Indian researchers, solar energy as if “makes its way” from the eyes to the brain and begins to “store”, i.e. accumulate in every cell of the body. When all cells are charged, there is no need for regular sessions. You only need to “recharge” your body periodically. But how is this recharging done? “All we need is a daily walk in the sun barefoot for 40-45 minutes” – assures the enthusiast. And he adds that this is the only way to achieve complete inner freedom and get rid of physical and mental ailments. Psychosomatic diseases arising due to stress will become a forgotten nightmare. But even more importantly, an energetic crown will form around you. As this invisible protective cocoon grows and strengthens, all diseases will recede. Even the most archenemy will become powerless before you, he simply will not be able to harm you! Manek believes that we spend an enormous amount of energy digesting the food we ingest, as well as allowing our brains to solve a lot of mental problems. If you’re, sorry, not munching on everything and are internally calm, your energy needs are immeasurably reduced. Manek says he knows at least 17 people in India alone who haven’t eaten for five years or longer. And several people have not eaten anything for 20 years or more. In all, there are more than 200 such people in the world.

And many thousands more are going the same way. What precautions should be observed in this endeavor? First, do not increase the time of visual contact with the sun by more than 10 seconds per day. Second, you should not exceed the 44-minute limit, i.e., don’t try to look at the sun for longer. Thirdly, see your eye doctor periodically: it’s important not to miss the danger of any disorders. Manek insists that under the sun you should stand barefoot on bare ground. No concrete, stone, tiles or even grass – just bare earth. You can stand on sand, on gravel, on a dusty road. Or, say, on a baseball field. But not on the roof of a building or on a balcony. And there should be no shoes on your feet, not even light sandals. Simply put, bare feet should be in contact with bare ground. The place where you sunbathe should not be shaded. In the open space, it is advisable to spend an hour in the morning – immediately after dawn, and the last hour before sunset. That is, if the Sun rises, say, at 7 am, and sits down at 6 pm, the best time to “feed” his energy is from 7 to 8 am and from 5 to 6 pm.

At first, you should not stare at the sun with your eyes fixed on it – just a glimpse is enough. Standing should be relaxed, in a state of relaxation. Do not strain the muscles of the eyes or face, and if you want to squeeze or blink – okay, blink. Later, as you get used to it, a person will gradually learn to look without blinking. Of course, everyone’s eyes are different. If you have (or will have) eye problems, Manek advises to switch to another mode: look at the sun only for about one second, then close your eyes and continue to see the sun with the so-called “third eye” (it is the Ajna chakra between the eyebrows), i.e. mentally. When the image of the sun disappears, open your eyes and look at the sun again only for a moment, as if memorizing it. Close your eyes and do it all over again. Do this exercise until the image of the sun will not remain in front of the inner gaze and currents of 5-6 minutes in a row. By this time the medical eye problem will have disappeared. One can gradually move on to normal practice. For Manek himself, the long fast has not only scientific but also religious significance: “All these attempts to invent some microchip and build it into the human brain so that it can store a lot of information and remember it better are ridiculous,” Manek states. – After all, we do not use even ten percent of the capabilities of the brain. But if we give it an energy boost, our abilities will increase many times over. In fact, enlightened consciousness – in the spiritual sense – is exactly one hundred percent utilization of one’s own brain.

Dr. Anil Patel, a specialist in Ayurveda and herbal medicine in general, who studied Maneka, advocates the creation of so-called itegative medicine Why, for example, is it necessary to walk barefoot on the ground? Because all the organs of the human body are projected on the foot. That’s what reflexology is based on. And Dr. Sudhir Shah strongly recommends to check the retina of the eye, and in general to start such experiments on oneself only with the assistance of doctors. He, however, talks (as a possible option to help people) about cloning Manek and using his genes. Because no one really knows the causes of obesity, and maybe it’s all in the genes? So to fully study the “CPM phenomenon” requires the participation of geneticists, biologists, biochemists, etc. Dr. Maury D. Presman, MD, of Philadelphia, writes that we, i.e. mankind, have hope to reach new frontiers by learning to control mental, magnetic, solar energy. Maybe even become a new, more perfect race – spiritually and physically. In this case there will be no need for scalpel and chemical medical preparations.

In short, this experiment looks promising, but there are some questions. It is unclear, for example, whether all people are able to use these techniques to the same extent, and if not, who is more receptive and who is less receptive? Are there those who will not be able to feed on alternative energy sources at all and are “doomed” to chew? There is also a purely Russian question: how does it feel to walk for 45 minutes barefoot, if it is not Indian sunshine, but bitter Siberian frost? And, finally, what does NASA hope for, as it imagines astronauts walking barefoot on bare ground in space? And yet, you’ll agree, it’s interesting. If you tune in to the fact that it is quite possible to live without disease and suffering, then the morphology of your cells must be reprogrammable, self-repairing. Either you will be a slave of your body or its master. And if we stop devouring everything that grows, runs, swims and flies on our planet, if we stop devouring ourselves and each other, the Earth will really become a paradise….
