The therapeutic possibilities of anabiosis

I want to remind you that anabiosis, hypobiosis are just varieties of dry starvation.

Having mastered the method of inducing anabiosis (hibernation) in people artificially, it is possible to get in one’s hands a powerful arsenal of means to combat the most severe pathological conditions and diseases, many of which are currently difficult or simply impossible to eliminate.

Thus, in an experiment with hibernating hibernators, the possibility of radical elimination of such serious diseases as syphilis and trypanosomal disease by hibernation alone (!) has been proved. There is every reason to believe that it will be possible to fight sepsis and even AIDS in this way, as there is information about successful fight with the help of hibernation and viral diseases.

Complete disintegration of the organism, observed during hibernation, can help to preserve the life of severely burned, as well as victims with extensive crushing and compression of tissues, if hypobiosis is applied before the development of toxemia – thereby eliminating the main pathological factor of trauma and preventing the development and deepening of secondary necrosis and wound infection. This category of victims is currently the most difficult (and expensive!) for resuscitation.

Immunity of hibernators to lethal doses of bacterial and chemical poisons, as well as ionizing radiation is known; the same immunity was found in an experiment with the animals closest to humans – monkeys, which were irradiated with one and a half lethal doses of ionizing radiation in the state of clinical death, i.e. the same hypobiosis. All control animals died, all experimental animals (clinical death was induced by bloodletting) survived, and none of them developed radiation sickness.

Complete disintegration of the organism at the cellular level in deep hypobiosis will allow to treat patients suffering from malignant neoplasms in a new way. It has been established that in hibernators during hibernation it is impossible to cause with the help of carcinogens the development of malignant tumors, although in the state of wakefulness it is easily possible, and degradation of a tumor in a hibernator during hibernation has been noted if this tumor existed in the animal during wakefulness. In 1938 American pathologists Fey and Smith for the first time in the world practice proposed a method of treatment of malignant tumors in humans with the help of artificial hibernation caused by cold.

Clinical trials were conducted on 38 patients suffering from widespread malignant tumors with metastases, including brain metastases, in many patients pain was relieved only by large doses of morphine. These patients were covered with rubber bladders with ice after giving sleeping pills in the naked state and for 5 days maintained body temperature in the range of 32.2-29.4°C, although in one case there was a temperature breakdown to 27.7°C, but without any consequences. During the period of hibernation, the patients had no urine output, bowel activity stopped, respiratory and cardiac activity practically ceased, and consciousness was completely absent. Then the patients were awakened, warmed up, given strong hot coffee, and after 2-4 days the patients were plunged back into hibernation.

In total, each patient was in hibernation for an average of 40 days. During hibernation, the patients had complete amnesia, upon awakening they did not feel any unpleasant sensations, on the contrary, the pain caused by the tumor decreased or completely disappeared, the general condition improved, the patients had weight gain, appetite appeared, and in those cases when the brain was affected by metastases, improvement of mental activity was noted. There was also a significant, sometimes up to 50%, reduction of tumors, there was also a delay in recurrences, the rapidity of tumor growth in recurrences significantly reduced. As far as possible, the authors of the method took biopsies of tumors before exposure to hibernation, during it and after the end of hibernation. When the preparations were compared, they showed clear changes during treatment. Thus, blood vessels narrowed and disappeared in tumors, already after 48 hours of cold action tumor cells were poorly stained, they swelled, protoplasm granulated. Destructive changes were also observed in the chromaffin apparatus. However, as the authors of the method determined, all these changes in tumors were of a return character, except for two cases, when in two women suffering from breast cancer, both tumors and metastases disappeared completely.

Fay and Smith attributed the changes they observed in malignant tumors to the direct effect of cold on them, but modern data on hypobiosis allow us to change this point of view. Cold is only a way of introducing a person into hypobiosis, it can be other, and changes in tumor tissue were caused by hypobiosis itself – that deep disintegration of the organism down to the cellular level, which occurs in hypobiosis.
