Why does fasting protect against radiation and why are fasts held on the days set aside for them?
To fully answer this question, let’s start, it would seem, with a completely different topic – how does radiation damage our body? Radiation is a powerful flow of energy, which penetrates into the organs, because of its power can not be assimilated by cells and causes ionization phenomenon in them. Ionization is the detachment of atoms or molecules under the action of particle impacts. As a result, a mass of radicals is formed in the cells. Radical is a biologically extremely active fragment of a molecule, which, joining with DNA molecules, blocks their biological properties, which begin to damage its hereditary apparatus. A break in the double helix of DNA and RNA occurs. Once this happens, and it happens mostly in the rapidly dividing cells of the gastrointestinal tract, the cells stop dividing and begin to be destroyed as foreign by their own immune system.
A destructive process develops in the tissues. In such “micro-holes”, arising from the above process, infections (which are quite sufficient in the gastrointestinal tract) are easily introduced, and sepsis begins, which leads to the death of the organism. Scientists have conducted a number of interesting experiments on rats. One batch of rats were irradiated or fed food containing radionucleotides and starved. For comparison, a group of perfectly healthy animals were starved. The physiologic period of starvation in rats is 12 days. The control group of healthy animals after this period of time completely died out, and irradiated lived 24 days and looked even better than before, and did not think to die. The researchers had to put them to death and their tissues were carefully analyzed, which revealed that they looked just fine, like young, healthy animals, and did not contain any radioactive damage! Why is this happening?
It turns out that starvation during increased biosynthesis requires energy, and the previously undigested radiation is now fully utilized for this. Evil turns into good! Along the way, a number of other mechanisms have been uncovered that protect the body from radiation during starvation. Here they are:
By increasing alcohol production, the body repairs cell membranes.
Restoration of cell membranes is nothing but strengthening of cell barriers. As a result, subsequent radioactive exposures will have a less damaging effect on cells. Increased carbon dioxide content in cells reduces ionization caused by radioactive irradiation.
The fast-dividing cells of the gastrointestinal tract, which suffer most from radiation, slow down their division dramatically when starved.
After all, they are forced to divide rapidly because they are exposed to their own digestive enzymes during digestion, damaged and sloughing off. The body restores the walls of the stomach and intestines due to the rapid division of these cells. This is not the case during starvation. Cells of the gastrointestinal tract rest, and the energy previously spent on accelerated division, now goes to the restoration of internal structures, repair of broken DNA and RNA helices. This is also facilitated by increased biosynthesis inside the cell due to the fixation of CO2 in it, which is not present in the food regime. Thanks to this, they do not die, are not rejected by their own body and when switching to the food regime as if nothing had happened, they divide and fully perform their former functions. But under the dietary regime these two processes of division and restoration of internal structures of the cell cannot be fully realized, and radiation aggravates it even more.
As practical studies have shown, radiation and radionucleotides are eliminated from the human body in just 12 to 14 days of wetfastingor 5 to 7 days ofdry fasting.
At the same time a person loses much less weight than during normal fasting. As a result of the above-mentioned processes occurring during fasting, the problems of radioactive exposure are completely solved. Indeed, after Chernobyl, academician A.I. Vorobiev decided to apply fasting to people affected by acute radiation sickness (when ulcerations formin the gastrointestinal tract). Bone marrow transplantation and the use of powerful antibiotic therapy in such cases are almost futile, and thanks to fasting there was a naturalcleansing of the bodyand the affected people restored their health. For the first time in the world practice, the method of fasting helped in cases where other, most modern (American, Japanese) treatment options were powerless! And no wonder, because these treatment options are the fruit of artificial inferences, and hunger is a natural natural process that has nothing to do with them.
After this introduction, let’s move on to the main question – why are fasts held at a strictly defined time of the year?
If we combine the dates of the fasts and the zodiac signs, we see that three of the four fasts fall in “fire signs”. The Christmas fast (40 days) falls in the sign of Sagittarius. Lent (48 days) falls in the sign of Aries. Dormition Lent (14 days) falls in the sign of Leo, and the duration of Peter’s Lent is variable and varies from 8 to 42 days. This fluctuation is caused by adjusting to natural rhythms. In years of active sun, when there is a lot of energy, its duration increases. In cold years, on the contrary, the duration of this famine is shortened. There is no fancy work here – everything is according to the laws of nature. In these periods on the Earth from space falls an increased amount of energy, which, acting like radioactive, can make discord in the work of the body. Remember the work of A.L. Chizhevsky “Earth’s echo of solar storms”, and much will immediately become clear.
If one fasts at this time, cosmic and increased solar energy will be used for creation, increasing biosynthesis. If still continue to eat, the energy, not being assimilated, will cause destruction in cells, and free radicals will act oppressively on cells, undermining the vital potential of the whole organism. But bacteria and viruses in this period from the abundance of energy go into an active state and successfully attack the weakened body. It is at this time that epidemics of influenza (spring and early winter) and cholera (summer) are observed all over the world. In the years of active sun these processes become so pronounced that in the Middle Ages the majority of the population of Europe died from it! It is possible to fast at other times of the year, but the combination of increased natural energy and hunger gives the best effect, activating the “fire principle”, which is extinguished by hunger. The ancient sages took absolutely everything into account and gave the best recommendations, we only have to follow them.
Protection from adverse environmental factors.
Together with “native” toxins and toxins formed in the body, during fasting, the introduced poisons are also eliminated – from the chemistry that has filled our everyday life, from the poisoned atmosphere, from water and food. This, however, is to be expected. In our ecological conditions these facts cannot be ignored. But starvation also gives a wonderful preventive effect. For a long time after dry fasting the highest defense potential is maintained, and with periodic fasts a person becomes practically invulnerable to nitrates, phenols, sulfur dioxide and nuclear power plants.
Cancer Prevention.
When I was studying RDT with Prof. Y.S. Nikolaev, he told me about a curious experiment. Students of Stavropol Medical Institute divided 120 white rats into 4 groups. One was a control group, and the other three were subjected to a 3-day starvation. The first of these three was inoculated with sarcoma before the starvation, the second during it, and the third after it. The control group that was not starved died completely. Of the 30 individuals inoculated with sarcoma before the experiment, half died, and of the 30 injected during the fasting period, one-third died. All those injected after starvation remained alive. As I have already written, during dry fasting the strongest, most viable cells survive, so even short-term dry fasting is a serious preventive measure againstbenignand malignant tumors.
Another miraculous effect of starvation was recorded by American scientists. They studied the effect of starvation on the development of severe forms of cancer. The animals were divided into two groups – experimental and control. The rats of the control group were exposed to radioactive radiation. The dose was selected so as not to cause rapid death of the animals, but in 2-3 weeks after irradiation all of them had blood cancer. The other group, the experimental group, was luckier. Before irradiation, the animals underwent a course of complete starvation. It would seem that the organism weakened by starvation should react to this negative impact even sharper, the disease should take more severe forms. But the results were just the opposite! In the experimental group compared to the control group, the number of diseased rats decreased by 70%.
According to a number of researchers, under conditions of artificial restriction of substances into the body (starvation), malignant cells and otherpathologicallyaltered cells, whose nutrition comes from the surrounding tissues, often die. It is well known that malignant cells, because of their rapid growth, need significant amounts of nutrients, several times higher than the needs of normal cells. Obesity and an unhealthy diet appear to increase the risk of cancer.
Researchers from Ben Gurion University (Israel) decided to test whether dietary restriction to a reasonable minimum has a direct effect on tumor growth.
Under these conditions, normal cells multiply more slowly. And the fast-growing abnormal cells found in malignant tumors die off because they need a disproportionately large source of energy to grow at that rate. They face a dilemma: either grow no faster than the rest of the body, or die, in an attempt to reproduce faster than their limited energy supply allows. Scientists believe that by reducing dietary intake to a reasonable minimum, you can, if you will, starve your tumor.
Interestingly, in 1993, a university in Louisiana had already observed 23 pancreatic cancer patients on a low-calorie, high-fiber diet.
In total, they lived an average of 1.5 years, while their fellow patients on a regular diet lived an average of only 6 months. Importantly, in 1998, researchers at the National Cancer Institute in Maryland also concluded that being overweight combined with a high-calorie diet increased the risk of pancreatic cancer. Targeted clinical trials are now needed to prove the benefits of a low-calorie diet. Researchers at Ohio State University report that rats on a low-calorie diet had smaller prostate tumors than those rats who ate whatever they wanted. It should be noted that this hypothesis only works for tumors whose cells grow faster than normal cells and whose nutrition comes from surrounding tissues.
American researchers have found that protecting cancer patients from thedangerous effects of chemotherapy can be helped by fasting for a few days.
